Risk and Chess

Unfortunatley I forgot my camera today when I handed over a Framed Risk Print in American Black Walnut along with a Risk Nostalgia boardgame and a handmade Isle of Lewis chess set, chess board and display case to a customer from Crowborough who had waited some time for me to finish these.

Painted Coffee Tables

21-7-05

I received a commision a few weeks ago for a coffee table and side tables. The main table design was to be a variation of my games/coffee table but with a painted finish and slate tiles inset into the tops. I also stencilled an ivy design on to the tops of all three tables. The main table has a large drawer and bottom shelf.

I delivered the finished tables to their new home in Wales today. I was happy with the end result, i thought the cream paint finish worked well and the handles match in well too.

Received a commission for a skeleton marionette today.
It is to be hand carved from linden wood, size is to be around 18" tall (excluding strings) and it is to have a moving jaw.

Have worked through a few sketches.

More on this marionette when I start work proper on it

Planter Benches

10-7-05

Spent the weekend building some plant benches for Serge and Nikki who are now selling their shrubs etc at Bentley. I took longer I had hoped. I was expecting to finish them on Friday but as the wood didn't arrive until nearly 1pm this didn't give me much work time on them that day.
Finished off on Sunday which was a very hot day and I didn't put enough sun cream on!!
Anyway the lateness of this post is because firstly I forgot my camera and then I was waiting for them to be stocked as I thought this would make for a more interesting photo.

Will be making some more of them, for Borde Hill Gardens this time, over the coming weeks.

Hand Made Kitchen

Kitchen

Heres a kitchen I made a while ago. The units are solid wood(no chipboard here) mostly pine with the fronts, doors and drawers in poplar.
Orignally the worktops were going to be granite so I had left the customer to sort that out but I was called back as they changed their mind to have solid wood instead.

Fitted the worktops today, leaving the customer to do the tiling and wall painting, should look good when the room's finished
